Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to have my own instrument?
For piano and keyboard lessons, we provide the instruments during lessons in our studio. However, having your own instrument at home is crucial for practice. For guitar lessons, students are encouraged to bring their own guitars to ensure they are comfortable and familiar with the instrument they will be using both during lessons and at home.
At what age can children start taking lessons?
We welcome students from the age of 5 and up. Early childhood is a wonderful time to start exploring musical concepts and developing a foundation for future learning. Our teaching methods are tailored to be age-appropriate, engaging, and fun.
Can adults take lessons?
Absolutely! It’s never too late to start your musical journey. Our adult students range from complete beginners to those picking up an instrument after a hiatus. Lessons are customized to fit your goals and schedule.
How long does it take to learn an instrument?
The journey of learning an instrument varies greatly among individuals. Progress depends on several factors, including the amount of practice, the student’s dedication, and the complexity of the instrument. Consistent, focused practice is key to advancement.
What performance opportunities do you offer?
Our students have the opportunity to perform in several recitals throughout the year and an annual outdoor concert. These performances are a great way to build confidence and share achievements with family and friends. No performance, recital, or rehearsal fees, unlike other music schools.
Do you offer trial lessons?
Yes, we offer a one-time trial lesson for a nominal fee. This allows you to meet with Susan, experience her teaching style, and discuss your musical goals before committing to regular lessons.
What is your cancellation policy?
We understand that life can be unpredictable. We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. Missed lessons without proper notice are charged as usual, except in cases of emergency.
How do I sign up for lessons?
Signing up is easy! Simply email or call Susan with your information and musical interests. We’ll get back to you to schedule your first lesson and discuss your musical journey. Email: Susyfowl@gmail.com Phone: (256) 631-1073
